GE HYDRAN H201Ti On‑Line DGA Dissolved‑Gas‑in‑Oil Transmitter

The GE HYDRAN H201Ti is a field‑mounted dissolved‑gas‑in‑oil analysis transmitter for oil‑filled power transformers and reactors. Adopting fuel‑cell composite‑gas sensor technology, it continuously monitors fault‑related dissolved gas concentrations in insulating oil, providing real‑time hydrogen‑equivalent ppm readings for early incipient‑fault warning. It physically installs directly onto transformer oil valve and works paired with H201Ci‑1 controller unit in substation condition‑monitoring systems.

This rugged transmitter features NEMA‑4X (IP66) cylindrical enclosure, back‑lit local LCD display, isolated RS‑485 Modbus / Hydran protocol communication, USB configuration port and 4‑20 mA analog output. It supports local data logging for up to one‑year trend‑history storage and full on‑board self‑diagnosis without routine field calibration. Original production has been discontinued. It is widely supplied as aftermarket spare parts for transformer monitoring‑system maintenance and legacy DGA‑system retrofit projects.

Main Specifications

  1. Brand:GE; Model:HYDRAN H201Ti; Type:Field‑Mount DGA Dissolved‑Gas‑in‑Oil Transmitter
  2. Sensor Principle:Fuel‑cell composite gas sensor, 100 % response to hydrogen, sensitive to CO, C₂H₂ and C₂H₄
  3. Measurement Range:0‑2000 ppm hydrogen‑equivalent, accuracy: ±10 % reading ±25 ppm, 10‑minute 90 % step‑change response time
  4. Interfaces:Isolated RS‑485(Modbus RTU/Hydran protocol), USB‑B local configuration port, isolated 4‑20 mA analog output
  5. Enclosure & Mounting:NEMA‑4X IP66 cylindrical housing, direct installation onto transformer 1‑inch to 2‑inch oil valve
  6. Data Storage & Display:Back‑lit LCD local readout, on‑board historical trend‑event log storage up to 1‑year duration
  7. Supply Status:Original production discontinued, available as tested surplus or refurbished spare parts

Core Functions

  1. Continuously sample transformer insulating‑oil through gas‑permeable membrane, measure composite fault‑gas concentration and output hydrogen‑equivalent ppm real‑time values.
  2. Provide local on‑site gas‑concentration readout via back‑lit LCD screen for on‑site operator inspection without laptop connection.
  3. Transmit measured gas‑measurement data to matched H201Ci‑1 controller, DCS or SCADA system via RS‑485 serial bus and 4‑20 mA analog signal channels.
  4. Record gas‑trend curves and fault‑related event logs inside non‑volatile on‑board memory for long‑term asset‑condition tracking and post‑fault analysis.
  5. Execute built‑in hardware and sensor self‑diagnosis, report sensor drift, communication and hardware fault status to upper‑level monitoring equipment.
  6. Serve as primary field‑sensing hardware of GE HYDRAN 201 series online DGA monitoring system for power‑transformer predictive‑maintenance applications.

Application Scenarios

  1. Power‑plant main transformers, transmission‑substation transformers and oil‑filled reactors requiring online dissolved‑gas‑in‑oil early‑fault warning monitoring.
  2. Spare transmitter replacement and routine maintenance of existing GE HYDRAN 201 series DGA monitoring systems in power‑utility sites.
  3. Technical renovation and predictive‑maintenance‑function upgrade of aging legacy transformer condition‑monitoring installations.
  4. On‑site troubleshooting and replacement of faulty field transmitters on continuously operating oil‑filled high‑voltage power equipment.
  5. Spare‑parts stocking for system integrators and power‑utility maintenance contractors supporting legacy GE HYDRAN DGA hardware platforms.
  6. Global aftermarket spare supply for technical teams maintaining obsolete GE HYDRAN series transformer dissolved‑gas‑analysis monitoring hardware.

FAQ

  1. Q:Can GE H201Ti work without H201Ci‑1 controller?
A:It can output analog and Modbus data standalone, but full local alarm‑relay and multi‑drop network functions require matched H201Ci‑1 controller hardware.
  2. Q:What symptoms occur upon transmitter failure?
A:Abnormal gas‑reading drift, loss of Modbus/analog output communication, local LCD blanking and self‑diagnosis fault‑flag reporting may appear.
  3. Q:How to configure and read historical data?
A:Local parameter setup via front‑panel keypad; full configuration and log‑data download are completed through USB port and GE HYDRAN HOST PC software.
