Foxboro FBM216 P0917TN 8-Channel HART Redundant Analog Input Module

FBM216 P0917TN is a fieldbus module developed by Foxboro (Schneider Electric Invensys) exclusively for the I/A Series distributed control system. It features eight group-isolated analog input channels that support both standard 4–20mA transmitters and HART 5/6/7 intelligent field instruments, integrating independent FSK modems for bidirectional digital communication with field sensors. This unit supports dual-module hot redundant configuration to guarantee uninterrupted process data collection for critical industrial loops.

The module adopts sigma-delta high-precision conversion technology with 15-bit resolution and galvanic isolation between field loops and internal logic circuits to suppress industrial electromagnetic interference. Matched with dedicated terminal assembly blocks for on-site wiring, it is a core maintenance spare for obsolete petrochemical, power plant and chemical plant I/A Series DCS racks worldwide.

Core Functions

  • Collect real-time analog measurement signals from pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters via 4–20mA current loops for DCS closed-loop process regulation.
  • Execute bidirectional HART communication: read instrument calibration data, fault alarms and diagnostic information; remotely set sensor ranges and alarm thresholds via DCS operation station.
  • Dual-module redundant architecture ensures seamless data acquisition if one module fails, eliminating data loss and unplanned shutdown of critical production processes.
  • Built-in short-circuit, open-loop and overvoltage detection circuits, with front panel LED fault indicators to quickly locate damaged field wiring or defective transmitters.
  • Transmit all channel measurement values and HART device data to the I/A Series controller via the fieldbus backplane for centralized monitoring and logic calculation.
  • Modular plug-in rack design allows single module replacement without powering off the entire DCS cabinet, greatly shortening on-site maintenance downtime.

Application Scenarios

  • Spare analog input module replacement for Foxboro I/A Series DCS control racks in oil refineries and petrochemical processing plants.
  • HART signal acquisition spare parts for boiler, turbine and water treatment process control systems in thermal power generating stations.
  • Maintenance backup stock for chemical factory distillation, reaction kettle and pipeline flow monitoring DCS cabinets.
  • Retrofit overhaul components for vintage pharmaceutical, paper and metallurgical production lines equipped with Foxboro distributed control platforms.
  • Matching signal collection module for pressure/temperature transmitters and upper SCADA monitoring linkage systems.
  • Global aftermarket spare inventory for automation maintenance workshops servicing obsolete Foxboro I/A Series DCS hardware.
